A spokesperson for the Interior Department announced today the American Scientist was being placed on the endangered species list. Under the Endangered Species Act, an animal is placed on the list when numbers drop below a level critical for the continued vitality of the species. The spokesperson said the decision was forced by the continuation of predatory behavior by university administrators against scientists and failure of the Federal government to preserve breeding sanctuaries. Later that day, a press conference was held to discuss the Interior Department action. Participants included representatives from the Association of University Administrators (A WA), Save Our Scientists (SOS), and the Federal government.
